The Children’s Home Campus has a history of farming, providing food for the staff and residents during the early years in Catonsville. During the growing season of 2015, the TCH garden was a source of pride for residents and staff. The fenced plot was filled with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, basil, and tall corn stalks. All the ground preparation, planting, weeding, harvesting and cooking became a delicious learning experience. Our staff gardener, Mary Moore, led the agricultural effort with an abundance of assistance from TCH residents. Gardening, cooking and nutrition are a few of the many educational topics explored by older youth to prepare for independent living.
